Some people have said Vanguardian: Book I is a bit of an emotional read. I believe that is due to how rounded the antagonists are. For example, the vicious gossips in the story are directly modeled after gossips I was involuntarily exposed to for years. Rounding those characters out and making them as close to life as possible was easy because of my real-life exposure. So, don’t hate your haters; thank them for making your writing material richer, more evocative, and more relatable to readers.

If you need inspiration for an antagonist, finding one can be as easy as observing your acquaintances, neighbors, coworkers, and even family members. You might find that you already have a full profile or a starting blueprint for your next story villain.
